Architect
Kiazo Nakutsrishvili graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1951 and started working at “TbilQalakProekti” in the same year. Between 1961 and 1964, he participated in urban and transportation planning seminars in Helsinki, Warsaw and Moscow. In 1963, he joined the third architectural studio at “TbilQalakProekti,” led by Vladimer Alexi-Meskhishvili.
Starting in 1979, Kiazo Nakutsrishvili taught the fundamentals of composition, planning, and perspective drawing at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. In 1998, he was appointed as a professor at the Academy. He has published theoretical papers, articles and a textbook.
Kiazo Nakutsrishvili has been a member of the Georgian Union of Architects since 1955. He received the State Prize (1988) for the Glory Memorial in Vake Park and the Order of Honor (1999) for his contributions to the development of Georgian architecture, as well as for his creative, pedagogical, and public activities. In 2000, he was elected a full member of the Academy of Humanitarian and Artistic Sciences of Georgia; in 2003, he was awarded the title of Honored Architect of Georgia.
